However, the reality is that both approaches serve different purposes, and understanding their role can help freshers make a practical and informed decision.

Self-learning is usually the first step for many freshers. It involves learning through YouTube videos, blogs, documentation, online courses, and hands-on experimentation. This approach helps build curiosity and independence. Freshers can explore topics at their own pace, revisit concepts multiple times, and develop the habit of learning on their own. Self-learning is particularly useful for understanding fundamentals and discovering areas of interest within IT. However, it often lacks structure. Without a clear roadmap, many learners jump between topics, miss important basics, or get stuck without knowing what to learn next. It also exposes freshers to real project deadlines and teamwork, which are difficult to replicate through isolated self-study.

In practical terms, the best choice for freshers is not to rely on only one approach. Self-learning is excellent for exploration and continuous improvement, while structured training provides direction, accountability, and industry exposure. When combined thoughtfully, these two methods complement each other and significantly improve job readiness.
